BF6 Gamers Concur: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult
The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to unlock specific weapons.
Users have commenced using tailored sessions set up using the Portal feature to complete them, underscoring just how grueling these assignments have become.
Understanding BF6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. It features four categories of assignments, but while the majority merely grant cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one key firearms present in the game.
Several of these gated guns could shortly earn a place on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy some of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so atrocious and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many positive effects in fights as it did in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you want to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Ridiculously Tough Mission
A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills over 200m with marksman guns
This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at such a long range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and possibly a classic map in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from beyond 200 meters.
The Bypass
Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to design tailored experiences on any map you prefer, including AI opponents. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the intended gameplay experience.
But when completing the missions in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Upcoming Tweaks
It is expected if a number of these missions are made easier in the near future, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.
At the moment, the community continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous battlefield assignments, anticipating a more balanced player experience in future updates.
